Funny cause it had sat all night at SAN and you'd like to think they would find any issues before boarding. Brand new A321 Neo. Anyways, I jumped on the Diamond line and they said, basically, all the flights would be crap but the least crappy would be SAN - MSP - AMS - MAD. I thought, how bad can it be? Middle seat (row 27) to MSP and I was already irritated. MSP to AMS (middle seat row 43) left over 2 hours late so I missed my connection to MAD. They wanted to put me on a flight TWO days later (yes read that right) but I was able to get them to get creative and now I am AMS - AGP - MAD. So yes my simple one stop flight turned into SAN - MSP - AMS - AGP - MAD. Still not there, but if EVERYTHING goes right from here on out (knock on heavy wood) I will arrive almost 14 hours later than scheduled. And I am VERY worried about my bag as it was booked SAN - MSP - AMS - MAD and now there are extra segments in there. KLM assures me there is nothing to worry about. Bring on the AirTag!
I should note ALL delays were mechanical. Admittedly by Delta too.
Anyways, the day was full of extra fun stuff like when I asked to be removed from the C+ upgrade list on the MSP to AMS since it was a middle and I had 2 agents (and Diamond line) tell me it was NOT possible without also giving up a seat assignment on my connection. Huh? Why? My TV did not work MSP to AMS. I was charged 3 times for $25 Wifi on this flight too. Its just NOT my day! Oh I am also out my non-refundable airport pickup in MAD for $50.
Thoughts on best was to complain and what to expect? I was given $12 in MSP for my 2+ hour delay. I am guessing Delta thinks that's enough for the day.
Thanks!
Did you make the reservation with a credit card that may offer some trip insurance that covers some of these non-refundable charges (notably the airport pickup?)
