Just returned from the Sky Bar at Lebua. Cheapest alcohol on the menu was 720 baht for a glass of white wine (Sauvignon Blanc). Water was 320 baht. Add service charges and VAT and it was pricey; but the glass of wine was about half the cost of a basic cocktail.
I walked right by the Lebua on my way to the Surasak BTS station—no way is it 5 mins from the Holiday Inn Silom unless there’s a shortcut—more like 10. And it was confusing as hell—no signage and the station isn’t even on Surasak: it’s a left turn onto Sathon Nuea Rd. I missed it the first time—gotta look up and take a left turn where the track is.
Costly yes, but this enabled me to tick “Bangkok Rooftop Bar” off my list.
Unfortunately it wasn’t all that pleasant because they corralled me over to a Standing Only bar after first trying to lead me into an insanely expensive Bollinger Champagne bar.
May consider another rooftop bar elsewhere in Bangkok if the prices and cheaper, view’s still great, and I can sit down.
