Has anyone stayed at this property? My wife and I are spending two nights in Hakone next March. Looking for something luxurious but at a more reasonable price point than Gora Karan with private onsen. I know the Hoshino Kai resorts aren’t exactly ryokan, but this seemed to strike a nice balance of what we’re looking for.
Unfortunately, there are very few in-depth reviews of the property that I’ve found. Anyone have any experience here?
It just opened in February of this year. I'll wait until some others have tried it out before staying at another Hoshino "KAI" Resort. Our experiences at all KAIs thus far have been mediocre at best. My gut tells me that you can do much, much better in Hakone.
