I don't know what my "status" is but I'm sure it's not much.
thanks
AAdvantage has four defined elite statuses: Gold, Platinum, Platinum Pro, and Executive Platinum. If you hold such status, you would probably know it.
If you hold an AAdvantage credit card which offers a free checked-bag benefit, you will get one free checked bag on flights within the U.S. (and maybe U.S. to Canada, too). The credit card checked-bag benefit does not extend to "international" flights; the status checked-bag benefit applies to
all AA-operated flights.
If you have a qualifying credit card
and have status, the checked-bag benefits are not additive: you get the checked-bag benefits associated with your status; you do
not get an
additional checked bag because you also hold the credit card.
