I used the London and Hong Kong Skyteam lounge before and neither lounges were a stand out to me. The Hong Kong lounge was operated jointly by MU and CI but the standard wasn't anywhere better than the old CI/HKG lounge (probably cause the exclusive area had much more choices). The good things about the Skyteam lounge were the larger seatings and had shower options (albeit just 1 stall).

If CI is actually doing some renovations on SFO then I expect they are keeping this lounge for a while and the update could be as good as the updated Bangkok lounge. They can get rid of the bar and turn it into a real time cooking place for noodles (and put that self serving bar elsewhere). CI knows the LAX pax hate the KAL Skyteam lounge so I expect them to keep that SFO lounge if possible. CI lounges these days are only good in the exclusive area (except BKK). The regular business lounges are zoos. BKK lounge is actually very good in terms of selections, just a bit too small.
