The lounge at Ren has been a joke for many years. Tiny space yet gazillions of patrons. Our last stay there were at least 5 or 6 years ago. We were lucky to have a suite upgrade but the lounge was absolutely useless due to the unbelievably crowding. We went there on our first night just around 6pm - the place was packed to the gill. A very apologetic staff brought a bar stool in for me to sit down but we were party of 2... After a few minutes we left and never dropped by during the remaining time of our stay.
We had breakfast at the Ren's restaurant which was reasonably good, not great but I would assume it would be much better than at the tiny lounge.
Being from Hong Kong we honestly could not care about the water front view. Our previous home had better view than that, up the hill at North Point.
We also once stayed at regular room longer time ago. It was not only extremely tiny but also not sound-proofed. And that was already an upgraded, at the time "renovated" room right above the Convention Center which we can see the whole top of it.
JWM location at Admiralty is super convenient. Those who claim they need to walk outside on the street to get anywhere, truly have no idea how those indoor passage ways are connected like a spider web. Though I wish somewhere on the net one could find a "map" to show the passage way, much like how Toronto does for its downtown area.
