Breakfast is served a la carte at a lobby restaurant with an extremely limited menu. I am sure we went above the $40 even before taxes - a sandwich or an omlet with meat is $18, drinks start at $4. Right there before taxes already 22 x 2. At checked out, there wasn't any additional charge on breakfast.

My understanding of Autograph breakfast was a full breakfast at the restaurant when there is no lounge (I dont think Autograph has lounge or very very very few of them have). Stayed at Autograph in Europe, always a full breakfast at the restaurant, never heard about a $ limit or even given a voucher.
In the U.S it says "continental breakfast" in Europe it is "full breakfast". So the $40 should of covered a continental breakfast for 2 adults not full sandwiches, omelets, and everything else.
