Indeed. From the time you scan the BP, it can easily take 15 minutes to get through transfer security. Then it can easily take 15 minutes to get to the gate, especially if the flight leaves from gates 30-42 (where my AA flights tend to leave from most of the time). Being allowed to enter the security line less than 35 minutes before departure will do you no good.
