However, you then need to add the non-Globalists who will pick up 1 GOH at 40 nights. (but spend it on themselves most likely)
The good news (or bad?) is that a lot of the online activity is driven by people who already have loads of 2026 GOHs, which can only be done this early in 2024 through:
- living in hotels full time
- hardcore MS
As a proportion of GOHs in circulation, therefore, a higher % will actually be "misused", which may cause Hyatt to, at the very least, revisit its policy of letting people "gift" these GOHs to anybody.
I don't know that there are "loads" of 2026 awards out there, as the most anyone could have earned by today is 7, and that assumes they've only missed a couple of nights in a Hyatt this year. A number of us have 10 or more awards, if one counts both 2025 and 2026 expiration dates.
Anyone with Glob status on 1 January this year received 5 GoH awards. This includes those who reached that status with 20 nights, via the various - AA, Bilt, Corporate, etc - challenges available in recent years. I suspect that's far more people than the relatively few that have already earned 2026 awards.
