Have moved 'up north' - advice for OW flights etc.

Hi everyone,

For one reason or another, I have relocated from SW London to Liverpool.

I was wondering what my options are for making the best use of the One World network for two things:

1. Connecting to LHR and / or other major airports for long-haul flights to the rest of the world
2. Any tips or tricks for MAN or other regional airports to maximise the earning of tier points.

Am I right in thinking that Liverpool airport is useless for OW flights?

I have my first flight from MAN this coming Wednesday afternoon, flying to LHR in CE ready for a TATL on Thursday. From what I've read I understand that the MAN experience is not a good one!

Based on no.2 above, I did for example find a mini tier point run: MAN-LHR-GLA-LHR-MAN doable in one day for those wanting 160 tier points. Not the best value at c.£400 though...

Thanks in advance for any advice!
