Excellent one night stay. This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in the US. Certainly the best for a 35k FNC + change. ADR + tax (before fees) was at least $400; I'm happy with the redemption.

The stay was booked from a Gold account. I'm Platinum this year, and this is I think the 2nd American hotel I've ever convinced to honor my status on such a booking (the other hotel being Hyatt Regency Boston; I've always had it honored in Asia). Room was proactively upgraded to a partial bay/ocean view (based on Gold status). "Breakfast" for 2 came to $55 before tax, was entirely covered by the Plat benefit (before gratuity) despite being told it's $24 per person. I put breakfast in quotes because the menu was mostly a lunch menu; we ordered a burger and lobster roll.

As others mentioned upthread, service was warm and flawless, atypical for American hotels these days. Of all my stays, I've never seen this many "beautiful people" in one setting. There were multiple events, and everyone looked like models. This isn't a place to dress down. The pools and hot tubs were very nice; as a non-pool person, this is one of the only times I wished more time at the pool.

Resort fee is now $57 after tax. I do agree with the poster above who said it was a ripoff - you really don't get much here for the fee (unlike some other properties that actually offers some interesting activities). We did plan to take advantage of the 3 hour bike rental, but the resort was so nice that we ended up just staying on property the whole time. There was ample street parking during our stay.

I agree with the first review that this is a legit high-end hotel. Expect to be pampered. I was able to use a 35k FNC (+ a few points), and it absolutely blows away my 50k stay at the lackluster Ventura Beach Marriott.
