Pulling up the booking on Lufthansa's website allows me to select seats, including "XL" seats and exit rows, and explicitley states on the page that those seats are "Free of Charge". Until I get to the summary screen, where it decides they are actually going to be US$52 each!
Does it let you select 'regular' seats for free? These are prem eco seats, might be well worth the $50 a piece
