Conrad bora bora nui

Introduction My friend and I went on a girls' trip to Bora Bora for 8 days. With Hilton Diamond status and IHG Diamond Ambassador memberships, we chose to stay at the Conrad Bora Bora Nui and Intercontinental Le Moana, with a visit to Intercontinental Thalasso, given its status as a sister resort. (We paid $35 USD for roundtrip transportation, which could be waived with restaurant dining or spa bookings.)Primarily, I'll be reviewing our stay at the Conrad Bora Bora Nui, where we spent 5 nights, experiencing three different room categories:Villa with Tropical Beach ViewKing Beach Pool VillaKing Sunset View Overwater Pool VillaAs Diamond members, we enjoyed complimentary breakfasts for two. While it's become increasingly challenging to secure complimentary upgrades, there's still a glimmer of hope based on availability, as some Diamond members have reported success during our stay. Aside from breakfasts, we didn't dine at the resort. Breakfast was buffet-style, offering a variety of pastries, with standout items like freshly made crepes and flavorful Eggs Benedict. Ala-carte options were available at no extra cost, and we found the banana juice particularly interesting. Meat dishes were intermittently served, although not consistently throughout our 5-night stay. One memory that stands out is when a family (a parent and a young daughter) were unable to dine because all the restaurants at the resort were fully booked. I couldn't believe this had happened to them. Unfortunately, during the high season, it seems like booking a restaurant is a must. Unfortunately, service is where the resort falls short, and why I hesitate to recommend it. It's not just our experience; discussions with other guests during our stay revealed similar dissatisfaction. Service via WhatsApp was often delayed or non-responsive, leading to missed requests such as for slippers or extra pillows. Multiple reminders via phone calls (2-3 times) were often necessary. Additionally, buggy rides sometimes incurred wait times of 20-50 minutes, which we found unacceptable.Furthermore, the lack of a designated butler, while not a deal-breaker, left us feeling neglected for a 5-star resort. The property, though beautiful, had its hazards, notably an area near the staircase lacking steps, leading to a potentially dangerous gap. Unfortunately, I sustained an injury here due to lack of warning. While staff were kind, their reliability was questionable. For instance, promises of aloe gel cream for sunburn relief near the public pool area were unfulfilled, despite repeated assurances. The natural coral reefs near the presidential suite area were breathtakingly beautiful. However, they posed safety risks due to strong waves and tides, resulting in several scratches for us. Full-body suits are advisable for swimming there, especially as it's not suitable for children. Nonetheless, there are shallow areas with fish to observe. Of the resorts we visited, Conrad boasted the best coral reef ecosystem, despite the hazards. Flight to Bora Bora Island: You must take the window seat on the left side! Behind the spa, there is a sunrise viewpoint with a view of Mount Otemanu. There was a little lizard buddy on the restroom window. We went on the local snorkel trips (Lagoon Service Bora Bora was amazing, recommend 100%)___________________Some pictures from this tour________________________ ___________________end of the snorkel tour__________________ You can book a Sauna for 30 minutes to an hour (free of charge), where you can access the sauna rooms and just chill. Looking back, I reflect on the amazing aspects of this trip, with Conrad Bora Bora providing a promising start. However, it also concluded on a sour note due to some severe incidents I'm unable to disclose here. Despite the beauty of the resort and its coral reefs, the overall experience was marred by disappointing service, unfulfilled promises, and safety hazards. Regrettably, based on our encounter, I cannot recommend this place.
