It went all the way up to Mirabel before coming back to land, which seemed pretty far, but I guess that could be traffic related as YUL is operating with a single runway at the moment.
No idea the reason for the go-around; hopefully not serious.
A private jet departing just before rouge 1637 might have hit a bird, 1637 elected to go around while they took a look at the runway. AC939 elected to land shortly after that when they heard where the bird might have been struck. Clip from LiveATC
here (RV1637 shows up just after 20:00).
One of our ATC pros might comment, but it doesn't look like too long a pattern for the go around. Keep in mind that while go-arounds often fly runway heading for a while, these guys made a right turn almost before they were past the airport.
Although it's possible they were sequenced for other arrivals or took a circuitous route for
QK7971, which came in while RV1637 was doing its go-around. If anyone wants to listen to the YUL departures feed, it might have details of what caused them to come right back after taking off - lost an engine? It's late and I'm tired, so I'm not going to go dig it up. But on the tower feed after 1637 goes around, you hear 7971 coming in with an emergency, although they said they didn't need the emergency equipment and would taxi to the gate.
