I stayed here twice recently as a Gold on weekends in January and March, using a mix of points and FNCs. I booked the Twin Deluxe room both times and was only offered an upgrade to Twin Deluxe High Floor, so I assume that only Diamonds are offered upgrades to suites. I probably could've asked if I could get an upgrade to the Twin Premium room instead since it's technically also a one-category upgrade (as an earlier DP seems to suggest), so I might do that next time.

As a Gold, I was only offered breakfast in the lounge, so I think free restaurant breakfast is restricted to Diamonds only. My friend (also a Gold) booked a room for 3, and the breakfast benefit extended to all three people in his room, which was nice of them. The breakfast in the lounge, while nice, does feel lacking compared to the Hilton Tokyo and Hilton Hiroshima, like it's only a slight upgrade over a breakfast buffet that you'll get at a regular business hotel in Japan.

The check-in staff's English skills seem to be a little variable in my experience. In January, the lady who checked me in was able to understand everything just fine and it went smoothly, but in March, I tried asking them to combine two consecutive reservations (one points, one FNC) so I wouldn't need to check out halfway, but she couldn't understand what I meant, so I had to explain it in Japanese instead before she was able to combine the reservations, and it went smoothly after.

The location is a little inconvenient for exploring Tokyo, which is reflected in the price compared to the Hilton Tokyo. Still, I was there for an event at the next-door K-Arena both times, so it was extremely convenient for that purpose. I would check the K-Arena schedule if you're thinking of staying here on a weekend and not going to an event there, since it can get a little noisy during the day depending on the crowd, and super crowded at night after the event ends and everyone is leaving and trying to get back home through Yokohama station. But if you're going to an event in K-Arena, the Hilton Yokohama is perfect.

I'll be back in August and October on cash stays, so hopefully the points issues brought up earlier will be fixed by then. I'm also landing at 5 am so hopefully I can get a nice early check-in time.
