Effected by the extension of the Chicago Pause, options didn't suit long layover in IAH. Originally booked AKL - ORD – LHR start of December. Had to call to discuss options, pushed them to re-route me via JFK. Agent originally said yes that would be fine, booked a day earlier. Then got a call from the Agent saying there is a fair difference of $1,100 due to “rerouting” what was my credit card number. Said no, this is within the airlines controls therefore the fair difference needs to be waived. Asked to talk to supervisor explained myself, fair difference waved. Also asked them to contact the Tier status team and get the pre cleared upgrade transferred over onto the JFK Flight. Shows as upgrade successful today. A waste of 2 hours tho and pretty shocking customer service.
