I noticed this, too. Booked dollar, got text from Hertz compelling me to share biometric data. I snapshotted all of it. There are so many red flags here, and many people will feel obligated to offer up their face (which is a password that can never be changed). Looks like they started doing this in 2018 and now are trying to make it a requirement. The terms compel you to agree to an arbitration clause as well. TSA at Boston tried to get face scans of us today too, without telling us it was optional. We can’t keep letting our privacy erode. It’s happening fast. Btw, I already paid for my car in full.
I do think if your want to do express check out, you are going to have to share your data. Is it worth it? But regardless, you can’t send deceptive texts making people feel like they have to do this and having button other than “agree.”
