We are traveling from the US to Vietnam in a few months on EVA Air, and when we created the accounts (4 of us), we didn't include middle names (John Smith instead of John Edward Smith). Was rushing to (successfully) get reward tickets through a credit card transfer. Our passports and our Vietnam visas include our middle names.

EVA Air (got through by phone) outlined what we need to do to add the middle names (some mildly annoying paperwork plus $50 a pop), which is very doable in the time we have remaining.

My question for the board is do we have to do it, or should we just show up at the airport and take our chances. In light of the overall cost of the trip, $200 (50x4) is not particularly meaningful.
