I haven't been asked to send photos in a couple of years. My guess is that maybe someone already drained the funds, so now they want proof that you actually purchased the card.
I specifically asked the woman if the funds were drained and she said that they weren't. That would mean that either she was wrong or that she forgot to freeze the card and someone drained it between when I talked to her and when they sent me the email the next morning.
This is why it's so important to check the card either before the purchase or immediately afterwards.
