The room was so small it wasn’t big enough for a normal desk chair. At my age, sitting on a stool to work gets old quickly.
I hear you, yet certain hotel brands in the US are dropping chairs with arms as parts of their standards.

The company contracted hotel we used at one point in downtown Sapporo had the smallest rooms I have ever experienced. I could sit on the toilet, put my feet in the shower and wash my hands in the sink. With ease. Well, at least one hand, it was a very small sink. There was no chair or stool, but a fold down shelf which served as the desk if you sit cross legged on the bed. They offered to keep large luggage at the front desk, a necessity as there was nowhere to put it other than on the bed.

We had a hotel in Nara which was comfortable, but challenging intellectually. I worked all day in Tokyo, got a train down to Nara and made it to the hotel before the required check-in cutoff. Really exhausted, in need of a shower and sleep. I was presented with two laminated pictures for breakfast and I had to choose before 11 pm so they could "start preparing". One was Set A and one was Set B. This was like something you saw at the dentist as a child. I looked and looked, and they seemed identical.

At the top corner of each was a very small glass of juice. Set A was orange juice, Set B was tomato. That was the only difference.

Have you tried body powder? I never used it until someone in Thailand suggested it and it really made a difference.
