Good meal overall, although I did have this menu (in reverse albeit) in January on a IST-EWR segment. Still though, I will say the food itself was an improvement over last time. Things to note: seems TK has (re) added a canapé plate before the appetizer cart. Although I never traveled on TK J pre-pandemic, I believe, based on reports the canapé course was SOP on TK long hauls. Either way, a very welcome improvement imho. Cart service, as always, was cool but imho didn’t really make a difference in terms of quality and taste of items, just *much* more variety. Also, and this is a personal pet peeve, on these IST-JFK/EWR flights, really wish TK would serve meals based on New York time rather than Istanbul time. Not this biggest problem here, but it would’ve been nice to been served dinner after take off (which would have been around midnight nyc time) sleep and then breakfast before landing (at 10:30am nyc time). Tbf it was much more egregious on the night flights to JFK/EWR where breakfast is served before landing at 10:30pm NYC time. Either way, I’m sure there a plethora of opinions on this.
Very delicious shakshuka eggs!
New canapé service!
