Glad that it all worked out for you. Sometimes I wonder about airlines operations when things go south...

I just flew back from the Maldives. As I was waiting in the lounge for my flight to Doha, an EK rep and pax were having a go at it, as the EK659 was delayed already 6 hours and it had not even left Dubai yet, unfortunately due to the storms. Pax were advised that they could find other flights at their own costs or book a hotel at their own cost that no help in that area could be provided as the flight was still showing delayed and not cancelled and they could only do something when the delayed flight hit the 8 hour mark or if the status was canceled. The pax were stating that if the flight was already delayed 6 hours and it had not already left Dubai that when it got to Male it would be already late by at least 10hrs. The EK representative would not budge about providing assistance. All she would say that the flight's new departure time was now 2:30AM, 13 hours after the originally scheduled departure. It was a mess. I was just glad I wasn't on that flight.
