I decided to divide this chapter into two posts, because I believe that if the individual posts are too long with too many photos then nobody will read them. On my second day in London, I headed down to Centre Point, an iconic building from the 1970s in Tottenham Court Road. From there I began a walk which took me to Stanford's famous map shop in Covent Garden, now in new and much smaller premises. From there I visited the Royal Opera House and Covent Garden market before heading over to Trafalgar Square.

A visit to the church of St Martin in the Fields was followed by a wander around Trafalgar Square with The National Gallery in the background. All was framed by an impressive glowering sky which threatened rain. Wandering down Horse Guard's Parade past Downing Street brought me to Big Ben and the rain started pouring down, putting an end to the day's activities.

The next morning I continued from the same spot, wandering out onto Vauxhall Bridge among the masses of tourists for a great view of the Houses of Parliament. Heading back to Big Ben, I wandered down Birdcage Walk to Buckingham Palace for a good view of the guards. From there I backtracked along The Mall a little bit, then turned left to amble up through Green Park to Piccadilly and entered the attractive streets of Mayfair. Another Caffe Nero stop imposed on Curzon Street, before finally heading to Bond Street tube station to go back to the hotel to pick up my bags before continuing to London City Airport for the evening flight to Billund, Denmark.
