That's definitely true, but when someone pays for SAF, it's pure profit for AFKL. Whereas when you spend on a ticket, usually, most of that is eaten by costs, so the net benefit for the airline might be much less interesing than just selling SAF (except of course for very expensive tickets ). And someone "buying" status this way also probably does not cost much since they are not flying a lot
