Can I ask what your relationship is with Qatar Airways?

It seems in the year or so you’ve been a member here, you’ve consistently commented on QR threads, taking a very obvious position.

Not questioning your integrity, just genuinely curious.
KingCanute is always providing factual and extremely useful explanations..
I have never seen him "supporting" or "promoting" QR in any biased way.
Of course, many posters here sometimes make silly or outrageous statements that are just incorrect or show a lack of knowledge on how airlines operate. Then, they stand corrected by other posters including KingCanute.
Personal attacks such are those are not acceptable on FT, especially towards KingCanute who has provided immense assistance to a lot of posters.

To return to the original question asked by the OP.
The fact that his original booking was left unchanged strongly suggest that the agent was trying to find pax who would willingly accept a reroute with compensation. Unfortunately, it seems that his porr English might have failed him (or he misunderstood his mission).
