Just received this from a staff member traveling from BUR - SFO via UA. He was told this was due to runway construction at SFO.
Got to the airport a little early for an 8:40 flight to SFO. The flight was actually going on to LV, so airport control re-routed the plane through SJC to relieve congestion at SFO. There was no announcement; I found out when I overheard a conversation another passenger was having with an agent. Takeoff was delayed. No one seemed to know exactly what would happen when we got to SJC, but initial plan was we would be bused to SFO, and then we could get our own transportation to where we needed to go. We were later sent an email that said transportation was by Lyft, but the woman at the gate was adamant we could not go directly from SJC to our ultimate destination, that nothing could be set until we landed at SJC, that I could not get a refund for my ticket , and that this was not her fault. I assumed we were being put in carpool Lyfts to get to SFO. I got a refund, took another later flight on a different airline, and missed the online class.
