Yes, but VARIG took almost 15 years to fail. The scenario back then was very different from today because Brazilian airlines could not have foreign capital. Today, the situation is vastly different. GOL may fail, sure, but it is unlikely to happen before AZUL or another airline buys it out. Moreover, if it were to happen, it wouldn't be for at least another 3 to 4 years...
