Last night, ORD-SNA, last flight of the day. I was 4th on the list, 2 seats available. First person on the list took their seat. Numbers 2 and 3 had same last name. GA called them up to the gate, turns out they were a couple. I presume the GA asked if one of them wanted the remaining seat. They must have said no, as I got the final seat. I truly appreciate that couple's devotion to each other
