Tokyo Day 8 - Departure

The last morning we wanted to eat at bills, a hip brunch place in Ginza. However the wait for 1 hour so we decided to eat breakfast at EDITION instead. There's no free breakfast; we got a discounted rate as a Bonvoy members.

Breakfast

My main, Eggs Benedict. 7/10 as the ham was dried out and the sauce set down throughout the morning service.

My partner's main, Avo+Eggs on a bread. 9/10, -1 for the portion size

We faffed around and eventually went to the airport. The check-in experience was mixed, the business queue was long (we waited 20 minutes) and I wanted my suitcase to be interlined to the BA flight FRA-LCY. The agent turned this first down and then mentioned they will try to do it, however by mistake all 4 bags were marked for LCY and not only mine, as my partner and I were on the same PNR. The agent printed then two different tags (one towards LCY, one towards FRA) but suddenly mentioned it's Etihad's policy to tag all bags for the same destination, which to dismay of my partner I understood. The agent decided the best course of action is to for them to retag the bags at the gate and we do whatever is required in FRA.

Fair enough, 1 hour later we made our way through security, shopped, and went to the gate. We did not visit the lounge as it was located at the opposite end of the terminal. Next posts will be about the NRT-AUH, AUH-FRA, and FRA-LCY flights.
