This happened to me a good few years ago on a connection from cph to BKK after the cph flight was late into doh . Connection time was down to approx 30 mins . As I came off cph flight ground staff holding name plagues for a number of passengers including mine . Said that I had been re booked on later bkk flight because of late arrival and I had to go to transfer desk for new BP etc. many other passengers told the same . Myself and a few others decided to ignore this direction and hot footed it to transfer security and then onto Bkk gate . Have to say was a bit of a route march and ended up with quite a sweat on . At gate boarding had almost completed but BP scanned passport checked and allowed to board , as did a few others off my flight did . No issues and bkk flight left approx 10 mins late . Also bonus was my bags arrived before I did in bkk arrivals hall ( bit of a wait at immigration ) so pretty impressive . To this day cannot see why we were told to collect new BP for the next flight which was some 6 hours later - but all ended well from my perspective . Was interested that some of my fellow travellers followed my lead to try and get the bkk flight having I think been new to DOH transit procedures 😀
