On February 3rd, I booked a hotel when the new stays credits were announced. I was charged by the hotel itself, which is likely why the credit wasn't automatically applied. Amex said to give it 8 weeks, then they opened an investigation, where I was denied. According to the investigation and the Amex rep, since this hotel is not currently available with Delta, I couldn't have booked it on the Delta site. The rep came across as slightly annoyed and cynical.
I called the hotel department, where I was asked to call the general customer service number. They claimed that I may have not accepted the site's cookies, which would ruin the tracking for the credit,. I was instructed to file a request for mileage credit, using the hotel reservation with screenshots. We'll see if I have better luck with Delta.
Perhaps this program would work better if it was handled on Delta's end at checkout? Trying to keep track of how the charges are coming through, if you have the right cookies, guessing who will still be apart of the program in a few months, too much for me. Here's my lying eyes:
