Can you elaborate?
I'm booking for a property in Tokyo and was searching for a room for 3 persons. Some properties only allow 2 persons per room, some allow 3 persons in their "2 Double" rooms.
I was able to book a room on points at the Westin without problems. When I select a cash rate, a third person charge of 17250++ Yen is added per night, but not when I select a redemption.
Why do you think I will run into problems?

I don't think you will, but I'd take a screen shot to be safe.
Award stays in Japan certainly have an 'extra' value/savings when it comes to booking more than 2 adults.
