Lot of UK IHG hate here
the UK Indigos are generally excellent outside of london, the London ones are a bit hit and miss.
Kimpton Manchester is nice enough for the price and Charlotte Square Edinburgh is excellent.
While I don’t understand why the IC PL still has these really dated un-refurbished rooms the upkeep of them was still great (in the couple I’ve been in) and the lounge is excellent with an excellent view … you might wonder why you’d want a lounge but if you aren’t there to spend every min outside the hotel it’s actually a pretty chill place to enjoy a glass of champagne and light snacks.
The IC O2 is also a strange property in that the clipper bar seemed to be under rated / under utilised and the “rooftop” Eighteen sky bar is rather dull it felt like being at a bad wedding but has a good views and the drinks were great, I feel like it could be much better. The Suites are also big but rather bare and bland. The best room I’ve had there was a corner room which felt nicely appointed and cosy enough with great views of the city. But for the right price and right occasion I’d happily stay again, has a pool etc if that’s your thing.
agree with all the CP and HI comment though they’re pretty much all awful in the UK.
