“Back office” response times

Hi

I called BAEC Saturday first thing to change an Avios flight with Qatar booked with BA.

The availability was there but because it was a different date and airport for the return leg, the very helpful chap said he had to send it to the back office just in case taxes were different.

He said wait 1-2 hours and I’d get an email and not to worry as he had to add the seats to the query.

I called again at 4pm as hadn’t heard anything. This agent confirmed everything was OK and 1-2 hours was very ambitious and 24-48 hours more likely.

I’ve not heard anything and there are 2 seats now showing on my inbound in Business.

Should I worry that somethings gone wrong and the 2 seats are back in the wild? Or am I just incredibly impatient?
