This is exactly what I used to do until the credit changed to being managed with Chase, since cash fares were sometimes lower than transferring to VS/FB. It would also work to essentially cash out UR at $0.015 for Delta credit if you couldn't find the flight you wanted at the same price through the Chase portal.
