Just thought I'd feedback on my first experiences of transfers at FRA- used the guide to help us on our trip!

LHR-FRA-SIN - evening flights- landed at remote gate and got the bus to AEUW gate- was able to go straight up to the Z gates and wait for our flight with plenty of time before boarding commenced. Positive experience of transfers at Frankfurt!

Yesterday- SIN-FRA-LCY - LH779 delayed incoming. Was told by connections advisor we could still make it (though app said it was at risk and being monitored) Got the the transfer bus at the foot of the Z11 (over to B60) Sat on the bus waiting for more pax (not sure why as another bus was behind) and then the text/email came through that we'd been rebooked. We had been waitlisted for a flight 10 hours later. Got to the other side to speak to someone near the gates (assuming we could easily be moved to an earlier one) to be told I needed to go back to the service centre on the A/Z side. Explained I'd just come off the bus. - took bus back and forth several times.

In the end, because there were 6 of us, we had to split-= my wife and eldest 2 getting through on standby on the 18:10 last night- I took an 06:50 Air Dolomiti service this am after getting a family room at the Intercity organised by Lufthansa.

Lots of tension at the gate for the 19:10 last night with 10 Polizei having to arrive to calm things down. People filiming on their phones etc.

When we booked, the air space closure in the middle east wasn't an issue- in fact only recent, but I would definitely allow longer if trying to do this again. I had no idea it would be so hard to get from FRA to LON (anywhere in LON would have done!)
Our flights with Lufthansa were a fair bit cheaper than direct from London- my wife and I have differing opinions on whether we'd spend more next time and go direct!
