ChoiceHotels Lowest Price Guaranteed is a scam
1. Submitted a claim within 24 hours.
- was told the link I sent didn't work
2. Re-sent the claim within 24 hours
- was asked for screenshots
- 3 minutes after asking for screenshots, was simply told "I could not find the lower rate".
- 20 minutes after the second email, was sent an email "This claim will be processed accordingly"
3. I sent screenshots as well as a video walkthrough demonstrating the rate is indeed publicly available, with appropriate timestamps. Showed the room is the same, breakfast included, and the rate in the correct currency.
- My emails are being ignored for a week now.
4. I called choicehotels customer service.
- service rep was lovely and said he'd send a report up, but let's be real, I know that report is going nowhere, but nothing against the CSR.
- have not received any sort of follow up after 4 days
5. Left a message on their instagram
- to be fair, they were quick to respond here, but they tell me there's no way to contact the best rate guaranteed (BRG) team except through the email that they've been ignoring me from. asked me to try re-sending the claim.
6. I re-sent a claim (now after the 24 hour mark), but with a message in the link box asking them to respond.
- I finally get a response, but am just told "this is past the 24 hour period", so clearly they didn't even read the message I left.
Honestly, this company is messed up. Why have a price matching guarantee if you're going to have a copied and pasted response to every single claim that they "could not find the lower rate".
