Like for most everyone else on here, most of the time it makes more sense to buy the fares then burn miles for me. Personally, my best use of miles has been the last couple of years on the Sunday of the first round of March Madness. Fares are usually above $200 for the daytime return to CLE from LAS, and it also happens to be during the Spring Break timeframe, so using 20,000 miles has been a no-brainer. While I like to have a stockpile of miles, it is time for me to use them a little more liberally at some point, Devaluation and disappearance are very real possibilities with this airline, much as I hate to say it.
