British Airways flights now leave Düsseldorf airport from Terminal C, which means standing in line for security with countless families en route for Turkey with the low-cost airlines. That ordeal over, Terminal C is a perfectly ok place to while away a bit of time, even if you don't have lounge access. Boarding was from C54, a bus gate at ground level and I was lucky enough to get on the first bus and get my luggage stowed. Admittedly, I had a bit too much stuff with me in the form of piles of VHS video tapes. But others had huge rollerboards which occupied much more space in the overhead bins.

Complimentary catering on the BA Citiflyer flight from Düsseldorf to London City
Despite having a fairly good opinion of BA CityFlyer, there wasn't anything particularly special about this flight, onboard an Embraer 190. I have to say that the seats were quite comfortable and there was enough legroom in row 5. The complimentary service consisted of a small pack of crisps (on a morning flight??) and small cups of orange juice and water. On ultra short flights from London City to places such as Amsterdam and Düsseldorf, there is no choice of beverage in Euro Traveller (the equivalent of economy class). As we progressed across the North Sea to East London the weather got progressively worse, with quite a turbulent landing at LCY airport. Views over the Thames estuary were great and landing at London City airport was somehow exhilarating!
