Nothing unreasonable about the situation. And certainly nothing unethical.
If one were really to examine the ethics of it all, then you could argue that keeping an empty room when you have no intent to use it and forcing another family to find a different hotel / get walked is not model citizen behaviour. But still not really unethical.
I meant the front desk should have called and inquired if they were leaving or not if housekeeping noticed nothing in the room..if i was the fda, id be calling.. but unless i got verbal confirmation, i wouldn't even touch the reservation
