Given Lebanon's policy of not allowing entry to individuals who have visited Israel or recognizing Israeli passports, I'm curious how these situations are handled on the ground. Are passengers required to stay onboard until the airspace reopens? It's also interesting that the LY pilots chose to land in Beirut rather than LCA.
This is an FR24 issue, been going on for months. Israel is jamming gps over much of its territory, so that most locations are (cleverly?) reported right in the middle of the runway of BEY. Tracking systems that rely on gps therefore report the location of aircraft incorrectly at BEY once they enter Israel's airspace. You'd think FR24 would be able to fix this since October, but clearly not. Silly.
