The old notes are no longer legal tender, and you're unlikely to find a business that will accept them other than as a great favour to you.

Edit: according to the Post Office website, the nearest post office that will exchange old notes is at 38 Mutley Plain, Plymouth, PL4 6LL. Unless you're flying to Cornwall, you'll undoubtedly be passing close to Plymouth at some point on your trip.
