Thanks I think we will stay two nights, and we will do this at the end of the trip likely arriving at Gare Est and then going to CDG. We will have heavy luggage and are not the best on foot anymore so will need hotel close to stations, and hopefully some of the metro stations have elevators (Berlin was great for that).
+1 with what Goldorak said. The métro was built 120+ years ago, accessibility was not something they had in mind. The Gare du Nord and de l'Est have lifts and escalators, but do not expect much for the actual stations on the métro (except 14, which is much newer).
