Seriously, though, I'm inclined to say this has more to do with the rates you pay (Deluxe Suite) than a general policy. You book Prive/FHR/Virtuoso/etc? My better Hyatt welcome gifts are in the $5-10 (retail) range -- half bottle of red wine (PHP), Swiss chocolates (PHZ). Mid-range is fruit plate and water with a personalized card, and often it's just the cheap candy/crackers/cookies gifts with non-personalized card I suspect every room receives. Oh, and nothing at all on a third to half of my stays. In fact, as far as welcome gifts go, I do far better with IHG than Hyatt. In any case, very ironic that Andaz Vienna, which has one of the better welcome gifts for us plebs gave nothing to someone like you.
