It's not the worst thing to go back to Paris/Amsterdam but I am looking for more creative ideas.

I am based at LAX - how can I use these miles going forward?
There are 95K business class award flights from LAX to Johannesburg in February 2025 and with a free stopover you can combine a safari or wine trip in SA with a short EU city trip. That is 2 long haul BC flights on AF for an average of 47,5K per segment which is really good. Remainder of miles can be used for economy back for 38,5K or premium economy for 55K (both would need a small extra transfer).
