In my experience on the A359, meal service for the second economy cabin starts from the back. Orders for CX elites are taken (and served first) if sitting in the front of the second cabin. YMMV for OWE. Whereas meal service starts from the front in the first economy cabin.
I've flown CX a bunch of times this year as a BA Gold/OWE. Unfortunately, I haven't paid much attention to the meal service. I was greeted and acknowledged flying MNL-HKG, HKG-PVG, and PVG-HKG. Sadly, nobody cared who I was flying YVR-HKG and HKG-YVR.
