I'm interested in the Briggs & Riley Baseline 21" Global 2-wheeled carry-on duffle because it's the only Baseline carry-on size that's
21 x 14 (instead of
21 x 15 or
22 x 14). Someone here has already mentioned that they can't store their luggage sideways in the newer overhead compartments due to the 15-inch width of the B&R carry-on he currently has. And I want the 21 length for international flights.
Here's the link to the description:

I also like that the wheel casing is on the outside so I can pack more easily. I don't mind the 2 wheels vs the 4 wheels.
However, I wonder if I'll miss the fact that it's not expandable. My current Eagle Creek international carry-on measures 21.5 x 13.5 x 8, and unless I had to pack thicker shirts for colder weather, it was usually fine, even for a 10- or 11-day trip. (I'm a one-bag minimalist traveler.) However, for colder weather, it did have extra expansion built in that I could unzip for a little extra space.
The B&R carry-on duffle doesn't have expansion built in. However, I think it does have more inner space than my Eagle Creek bag due to the wheel mechanism thingie <smile> being on the outside.
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this carry-on before I make a decision. (I broke the wheel casing on my Eagle Creek luggage and need new luggage. I like the flat interior of the B&R or I'd just get another Eagle Creek. I was well made and sturdy - I just happened to get the wheel casing stuck in a moving sidewalk at the airport and the moving sidewalk won.)
Thanks for any feedback!
