Thank you both, this is very helpful. I did not realize that calling to cancel is the way to get a companion certificate re-instated. And I did not realize that the non-Saver fares can go into my wallet. We never book the Saver fares anyway.

I canceled a round-trip in February due to my husband’s illness, but I did it online and did not get that companion certificate back (we get 2 every year). And I did not know that one must affirmatively CHOOSE to have the funds deposited into my wallet. I asked for “refund” and of course that never happened, because it was not a refundable fare.
