No I doubt there is any change to staff numbers, in any case there is probably sufficient staff turnover that it doesn't matter either way. The items are still being scanned, the CT element allows for greater processing power, but if no longer have to separate out our items ourselves, then either the staff or the computer will have to do that untangling - and the reality is a bit of both. So to some extent - and as we have seen at CT airports in places like the USA, Iceland, AMS, the workload is moved from passenger to security staff. The place to see this is SNN, they are quite proud of their set-up, and will actually let passengers look at their screens and give them a go with the 3d tricks. There are also some videos on the SNN website showing details that you will never get from a UK airport. But for a small airport it has a lot of security agents.
