As much as I live in the PNW, I am actually flying out from JFK. I am specifically booking the flight on the 747-400 as this will probably be one of my last few flights on the 744, and I have never sat in the nose section. Just trying to get this ticked off my bucket list. It seems as though the cheapest business ticket on the 744 from the USA is from JFK. IAH and ORD are just so expensive!!!

If I transit through FRA and fly onwards to LON or most other destinations, the fares are several hundred dollars cheaper!

Next on my list would be flying the 747-8, but I am booking the roundtrip JFK-FRA as an assurance that I do get to sit in the nose section in case of a last minute equipment swap.

I have transited through FRA way back in the mid-2000s and it was BKK-FRA-MUC and all I remember is that it was a loooong walk to get to the final gate.

Do I have to take the bus, or can I walk all the way between terminals? LOL
To save you some disappointment, the sitting in the nose section of the 747 experience is completely overblown.

Regarding the 747-800, the nose section is first class.
